Lorry crash on to the pavement

STOMPer MH saw this accident along Jurong Port Road at about 7.30 today (May 23), in which a lorry had apparently gone over a pavement and crashed into a drain.He said:"I was driving along Jurong Port Road this morning (May 23) at around 7.30 am when I saw this crash."The location of the crash was between the intersection of Jalan Terusan and Jurong Port Road."A lorry crane was there to lift the crashed lorry but I believed it was unsuccessful because when I returned to the location after sending my wife to work, the lorry was still in its original position and the crane lorry had left."They might have difficulty in lifting the crashed lorry."

Car with Peculiar plate

STOMPer MH was in Republic Polytechnic when he saw this intriguing sedan car plate number which starts with a 'Y'.He told STOMP via email today (May 20):"I was going for lunch yesterday (May 19) at Republic Polytechnic in Woodlands when I saw this peculiar car plate number."I have never encountered a sedan car with a plate number starting with 'Y'."After getting a closer look, I found out that the plate is broken."No wonder the plate is like I had never seen before!"

The aftermath of Amir motorcycling accident

That Mercedes driver was coming out from the side road without looking at the main road traffic. My wife couz's husband was riding on the main road when that stupid merc suddenly came out from the side road! He skidded to avoid the car and fell and dragged by the road pavement!!!! And that stupid merc's driver wanted to leave before the ambulance came and even defend himself that he gave way to him!! Wat a dumbass!!!!! The damage - Laceration on his left hand/shoulder and fracture right arm!! Sue that merc's driver!! So what you drive big cars.. Can anyhow drive issit?? Basket!

Sean's Dream car!

Sean's dream ride.. Its more like a caddy ride than a car to be used on the road.. The owner of this car will have difficulty when its rain! Like motorist, he/she will have to take shelter if its rain!

Traffic light malfuntion

STOMPer Mohd noticed this spoilt traffic light, located at the junction along Tuas South Avenue 3, on Monday(22 Dec). He says: "I was travelling along Tuas South Ave 3, when I realised that the traffic light at this junction had malfunctioned. "It could be due to a tall/high commercial vehicle ramming into the traffic light."

Ahboon's new car

Went to Kaki bukit Chevrolet Alpine workshop with my good fren Ahboon to collect his new chevrolet Aveo!!! The same model as mine but auto and with more freebies that i was not entitled to last time "sigh" .. .. .but anyway .. ... . Great car with a good number plate!! I am sure he gonna be happy with the car!!

Huge Spider at CCK carpark

STOMPer MH caught sight of this huge black-and-white spider at a multi-storey carpark in Choa Chu Kang.

Said the disturbed STOMPer of his find:

"I was passing by the carpark when I snapped this photo of a large spider.

"I am wondering if this species of spider is poisonous?"Can anyone help to identify this spider?"

STOMP has contacted experts at NUS for help in its identification.

Haze is back?

I was passing by Choa Chu Kang Way around 7.00 am when I realise how bad the haze condition at the Choa Chu Kang estate. Is there more hotspots in Indonesia that are not reported in the media?

The wrong way to unload your goods.

I saw this lorry unloading furnitures at Bukit Batok East Ave 5 carpark. Instead of using the designated loading/unloading area, the driver parks on two motorcycle parking lots to unload the furnitures. The lorry was parked there for a while and really obstruct riders to park their motorcycle there.

Heavy Vehicle hogging the road

I am really unhappy whenever this happen. There is no way faster vehicles are able to overtake once these vehicle hogging the three lanes. Something must be done to curb these drivers habit to drive on the overtaking lanes.

Traffic light malfunction

I was travelling along the Jalan Buroh when I arrive at the intersection with Jurong Pier Road. The red light of the traffic light has already fell off. So dangerous as it carry the risk of motorist unaware the color of the traffic light and could inadvertantly run a red light. Accident are waiting to happen.

Inconsiderate Driver

This is one inconsiderate driver. How could he deprive parking lots to other motorists. He had intentionally/unintentionally parked over 4 motorcyles parking lots. There are so many other parking spaces and he/she has to parked here?

What a Narrow escape!

The time was 7.40-7.50 pm, yesterday.. 28 Aug 2008. I was cruising at PIE first lane at around 80 km/hr.. A Toyota Hiace Van was travelling on the second land at around 70-75 km/hr.. I was gaining distance slowly towards the van when.. A Subaru WRX and a if I am not wrong Honda Civic was racing each other on the third slow lane. The Civic had an upper hand and zoomed pass by the WRX within the third lane.. That Stupid WRX Driver was too engrossed in catching up with the Civic that when he switch to the second lane, his distance was too near to the Hiace Van and the WRX side door hits the van front. The van hits the brake and swerve in my path. The centre of gravity of the van is way to high for this kind of speed and as such the van flipto its sides. Sparks can be seen as the van side body drags through the tarmac of the road. all this while I was noticing the event unfolding in front of my eyes. As soon as the van flipped and slide in my lane I hit the brake.. DAMN HARD...

That sequence of events which lead to the whole of traffic from PIE to a standstill. I was lucky that my speed was not fast enough and was in the nick of time to hit my brakes.. If the van had flipped right on my car.. I am not sure what is the consequences going to be..

This whole event I believe the WRX driver was totally at fault. He is such a reckless driver and involve in car racing at the peak hours of the day.. Totally uncalled for.. So irresponsible of him to do such a thing.. For me .. it was liek watching movie of a high speed car race that end up in a car crash but this time it happen LIVE..

PLEASE DO NOT INVOLVE IN SPEEDING AND CAR RACING AT ANY POINT OF TIME!!!

At the Pumping Station

This is quite an unusual sight. Seeing several cars transported by this type of trailer is common. But seeing it parked at a pump station and the driver is busy pumping petrol into the transported vehicle is something new to me.
Have any of you seen something like this before?

I was passing by Tuas South Ave 3 when I spotted this car parking by the foothpath. I wonder how he manage to get up there. Oh well such inconsiderate driver to park his vehicle by the footpath.

Digging Grave by the road side

Don be alarm with the title of this post... This is just upgrading works going on by LTA. They are changing new PVC pipes for all drain linking the road to the sewers. Precisely this upgrading is necessary to ensure no water logging on the road that might resulted in flood. But the last few days my mum has been complaining non stop! The sound of the jack hammer breaking the concrete is so deafening that my little Hariz has difficulty for his afternoon nap!

Mischievous boys playing by the road side

I was passing by this car park when I saw two kids were moneying around by the road side. One of them even climbed up the conrete entrance pillar. They are so close by the road side which make this stunt so dangerous. One slip might cost dearly to them as incoming vehicles might not be able to stop on time.
